You’ve just found the perfect bridal robes for yourself and your bridesmaids. A silky white, lace-trimmed number for you and pretty blush pink robes for your girls. Now you’re wondering, should I get my satin robes embroidered with ‘Bride’ and ‘Bridesmaid’? Well, ultimately it’s up to you. But to be frank… no. Okay, that might not be the answer you were looking for, but hear me out!
You’re only a bride for a day, but you’ll want to use your robe forever. We promise that as soon as you slip on your gorgeous new bridal robe on the day of your wedding, you won’t ever want to take it off. On the day, having ‘Bride’ embroidered on the back of your robe makes sense. But every other day you’ll want to wear it, it won’t! Keeping your robe unembellished with embroidery means you can lounge around every day after your wedding feeling glamorous AF with a subtle reminder of how amazing your big day was. Key word: subtle!
Embroidery ruins the fabric of your robe! The beautiful fabric of your bridal robe is very delicate, and embroidering it causes pulls and creases all around the embroidered area. Seriously – look up ‘embroidered bridal robe’ on Google images! It is not cute. Plus the fabric won’t lay nicely against your back or make those pretty, silky flutters!
Robes without embroidery are better for photos. Okay, this could just be a personal preference, but we much prefer how robes without embroidery look in wedding photos. Besides, if you’re grabbing some snaps in your matching robes after getting your hair and make up done, you’ll only really get one photo with the back of your robes. You’ll want your gorgeous faces to be the focus!
Embroidery means fewer options for robe designs. If you want embroidery you won’t be able to pick a pretty lace bridal robe for yourself because you can’t embroider on lace! Lace robes are a gorgeous alternative to satin robes, and you won’t want to rule them out while searching for the perfect robe for your wedding morning. White lace robes are super bridal-looking, and look amazing contrasted with satin bridesmaids robes!
Personally, I think bridal party robes look much prettier and more chic without the embroidery, and keeping them unadorned just makes sense. You’re a bridal party, not a football team (haha)! If you really want to add a personalised touch to your bridesmaids’ gifts, we suggest a personalised wineglass or something small that they might not use as often. We predict you and your bridesmaids will want to live in your robes after the wedding, so keep them elegant and timeless!
