Your wedding day is an incredibly special day. You get to gather with the people you care about and commit yourself to the person you love most. On such a happy occasion you’ll want to make sure you look as good as you feel! Below are five tips for making sure you are looking your best on your wedding day, and you can trust us, as wedding photographers we know what looks good!

Wear a dress that suits your body

Finding your perfect wedding dress is SO important. You want to blow away your guests and, most of all, whoever is waiting for you at the end of the aisle! It can be daunting to begin your search, but one of the most important things to consider is your body shape. All bodies are unique and no dress will look the same on you as it would on anyone else. While browsing wedding inspo look for models with a similar frame to you and take note of the aspects of their dresses that are most flattering. Love your curvy hips? Consider something that hugs you in all the right places! Taking notes of dresses that suit your shape will be incredibly helpful as you look for your wedding dress.

Wear a long, sheer veil

If you’re wearing a veil on your special day (and we highly recommend you do!) make sure it’s the most flattering veil style you can find. The right veil can elevate your bridal look from lovely to unforgettable! Looking and feeling incredible on your wedding day should start before you even begin to get ready. Get yourself a pretty robe so that you can feel beautiful from the moment you get out of bed!  Relaxing with a mimosa while getting your hair done feels much more glamorous in a silky bridal robe than in sweatpants. Take care of your body!

Last but not least, remember to take care of your insides too! Gorgeous hair and make-up will make you look stunning but if you haven’t taken care of your body you won’t feel your best on your special day. Drink plenty of water in the days leading up to your wedding and make sure you stay hydrated on the day too. Listen to your body, make time to relax and get enough sleep. Staying well-rested and hydrated will not only make you feel better, it will also help your skin stay clear and keep you looking bright and fresh all day!
