The morning of your wedding is an incredibly exciting time. You’ve been waiting for this day for what probably feels like forever, and now it’s finally here! Surrounded by your bridesmaids and maybe a couple of extra special people, you’re getting all done up, ready to go and marry the love of your life. So to make your getting ready experience super special, we suggest you include a few extra details beyond the basics!
Robes
The right getting ready robe, whether it’s a silky satin robe or trailing floor-length lace robe, can make you feel much more beautiful on the morning of your big day, adding an extra layer of luxury and elegance to the whole experience. Plus, if you get pretty matching bridesmaids robes for your bridal party, you can have a little photoshoot together, helping capture the day from beginning to end perfectly! If you do gift your bridesmaids robes, we suggest you avoid the temptation to embroider them with ‘Bridesmaid’. You want them to be able to treasure their robes forever, not just one day!
Snacks
Having some delicious food on hand throughout the getting ready process will help get you energised for the big day. We suggest a couple of platters of nibbles, so you can eat bite-sized pieces without worrying about messing up your makeup. Your bridal party will appreciate it too!
The perfect bridal playlist
The right tunes can really help set the mood! You can’t go past old-school favourites that you and your bridesmaids grew up with, but if you want to mix it up a little, Spotify has a great selection of bridal playlists to choose from. Just search ‘wedding morning’ or ‘bridal prep’ and get ready to dance – when you’re out of the makeup chair, of course!
A beautiful garter
A garter is a fun little detail to include in your wedding ensemble. It can also work as your ‘something blue’ if the garter has blue lace, ribbon or crystals. Even if you don’t plan on including a garter game in your wedding reception, you can take some time with your photographer to snap a few photos of you looking pretty in your robe and garter!
Extra time
To keep your getting ready running smoothly, make sure you allow plenty of time for you and your bridesmaids to get glammed up. We suggest getting hair and make up started and finished as early as possible, so your photographer can get all the photos they need with you then head off early to take photos of your ceremony set up. Plus, that gives you some extra time to relax with your bride squad before you leave!
The most important thing to remember is to just have fun! Relax and enjoy being doted on by your best friends, embrace the excitement and get the party started. By the time you’re ready to head to the ceremony, you’ll have already created memories that will last a lifetime!
